Better
Waverly Community Arts Center
(BWCAC) at 901 Montpelier is special space dedicated to providing arts to community residents, especially to neighborhood youth. There are visual art classes, drawing classes, piano lessons and monthly Saturday workshops for different age groups. In the summer there is MICA/MACA art camp for youth culminating in an Artscape exhibit.

Youth came together inside BWCAC to design a Better Waverly Community Sculpture Garden with the assistance of city officials, Parks & People, Community Artist Alexandra Roberts and many members of the Better Waverly community. Visit this open green space at 808-814 Homestead St.

ArT.linK is a unique program that makes it possible for any child in the Better Waverly neighborhood to attend arts and music programs of their choice. Funded by a generous gift from the Family of Myron Terry Koenig, children already participating in arT.linK have developed their interests and talents in a variety of arts, including modern dance, jazz dance, African dance, African and jazz drumming, painting, drawing, cartooning,  ceramics, sculpture, piano, violin, guitar, singing, theater, and claymation.

Some of the programs in which arT.linK children participate are Morgan Sate University Youth Art Institute, Sax Jazz Camp at Loyola College, Maryland Institute College of Art, Experimental Movement Concepts, Baltimore Talent Education Center, Clayworks, Sankofa Dance Theater, Peabody Conservatory of Music, Towson University Community Arts Center, Morton Street Dance Company, Handel Children's Choir and Three Ring Theater.

ArT.linK families can select one of these programs for their child to attend, or any art or music program you wish. The program can be after school, on the weekend, or over the summer. ArT.linK can pay tuition for the program of your choice and other expenses necessary to make the arts program happen for your  child.
